Fukkatsu no Lelouch, also known as Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection, is a sequel movie to the original Code Geass anime series. It was released in Japanese theaters on February 9, 2019 and then later released in North America on May 5th, 2019.
The movie takes place two years after the events of the original series in an alternate timeline, where Lelouch is seemingly resurrected after his apparent death. Lelouch has lost his memories, and finds himself working with the Black Knights to uncover the mystery of his revival and the truth behind his "death" after overthrowing the Holy Britannian Empire.
The movie features returning characters from the original series, as well as new characters and mechs not seen before. It was directed by Goro Taniguchi and animated by Sunrise.
Overall, Fukkatsu no Lelouch was well-received by fans of the original series and was a commercial success in Japan.
